IBIT Mentorship
During the Spring 2021 semester, I got the amazing opportunity to learn from Rich Rivara, the CEO of Wave6, where we spoke about data analytics and what a career in the field would be like.
During our meetings, I learned about how to manage data in the work field, everything from cleaning data to common workplace issues. I also got advice on what software to focus on in preparation for work after graduation, including SQL and JavaScript. I received a lot of advice on getting jobs and internships, and now through Mr. Rivara, I have access to a larger networking circle that I know will be very helpful in the future. I was able to meet with some employees who have experience working with data, who gave me a lot of helpful insight. I learned a lot more about the practical uses of data from our meetings.
Overall, it was a great experience and I feel even more prepared to finish out my time at Temple and succeed in my career after graduation.
