Technology Consultant Intern
As a Technology Risk Consultant intern at Protiviti, I assisted the Internal Audit Advisory department with control implementations and third-party risk assessments of technological processes of information systems. As a member of the Internal Audit Advisory Team, I was granted the opportunity to participate in multiple client-based projects, which consisted of analyzing potential risks, system vulnerabilities, and formulating optimal solutions for improvement of IT infrastructures. In addition to the role of the Technology Risk Consultant I was assigned tasks to execute third party risk management assessments of IT environments guided by the standards of ISO, NIST, and SOC2. I assisted with preparation of third-party risk management policies and standard operating procedures required for SOC2 approval, and evaluating implemented controls of operating systems. The assigned Technology Risk Consultant role allowed for me the opportunity to display my acquired skills and knowledge obtained in MIS 3406 Cloud Architecture and MIS 4596 Managing Enterprise Cybersecurity as I demonstrated my technical understanding of cloud services and technological risk analysis. The opportunity to intern with Protiviti’s Internal Audit Advisory Team allowed for me to increase my understanding of IT frameworks and environments as I expand my career within MIS.
