Project Management Intern
HealthShare Exchange (HSX) is the Delaware Valley region’s health information exchange (HIE). It links the electronic medical record (EMR) systems of different hospital health systems and other healthcare providers — and the claims data of healthcare insurers — to make this information accessible at inpatient and outpatient points of care (including medical practice offices) and for care management. HSX services provide recent clinical care information, and alert providers and health plans to care events.
I joined HSX, Innovation, Research & Development department in June 2018 as a Project Management Intern. Our department is currently engaging in developing a 2 sided platform that provides applications with secure access to health information. My early tasks were to help the Project Managers develop documentation templates(WBS, SOW, etc..). I also helped create various infographics to help with the team’s presentations. As I got more involved with the team, I also help developed business models and business strategies. Our 2 sided platform project is currently on track to go live in early 2019.
I am still working at HSX as a full-time intern. This internship has been an amazing learning experience for me. The knowledge that I had learned in MIS 3506 was extremely helpful. I used JustInMind and Piktochart to help visualize prototypes and information. In additions, many Business Analyst techniques were put in to use.
