Investment Analyst
I was an intern on the Taxable Money Market desk of Vanguard. My role primarily involved following market news, booking trade tickets, and proposing treasury bill levels across five of Vanguards funds. While this was a finance internship, Vanguard emphasizes tech applications, which I used in my final project. During my role, I leveraged VSCoder, Jupiter Notebook, and Python (pandas, matplotlib, openpyxl, etc.) to read in monthly money markets data across the industry, aggregate the data, and output charts and tables of the data based on manual entries to analyze trends across different funds. Much of my project incorporated content taught in MIS 2502 Data and Analytics for setting up Python and using Python to read, aggregate, and manipulate data. I learned how to apply coding skills to my final project to help the team better assess how different firms are approaching investing in money market instruments. Before leaving, I documented steps for my team to use the code and suggestions to improve the project.
