Read Between the Lines
The session focused on developing critical data literacy skills, specifically how to analyze charts, graphs, and statistics presented in news media. During the workshop, I learned how visual data can be misleading through selective scaling, omitted context, or biased presentation, and how to ask the right questions to evaluate the accuracy and credibility of data-driven claims. This experience strengthened my ability to interpret information critically, make informed judgments, and approach news and data analysis with a more analytical and skeptical mindset, skills that are highly relevant to business, information systems, and decision making roles.
