How to Use Data Visualization to Make Better Decisions-Faster
In this LinkedIn Learning, Steve Wexler goes over how “an effective visualization doesn’t just help people see things they may have missed, it can motivate people to change their behavior.” He goes through different examples showing the importance of color and marginal histograms and how they can help people find the data they are looking for in the visualization easier and quicker. I also learned the importance of choosing a chart that is not only visually appealing but also allows the viewer to make accurate sense of the chart. Categorical color is something new I learned and that there is no set rule on how many are too many but that you should try to use no more than four. This LinkedIn Learning will help in both my coursework and future career because it showed me how to create a visualization that is not only effective but also one that allows the viewer to quickly understand the data is being shown. I can use this in both class and future job reports and presentations.
