Information Technology Intern
This past summer I had the opportunity to intern for the Sales, Research, & Analytics Technology department within the Information Technology organization at NBCUniveral’s 30 Rock office in New York, NY. While working on the Digital Sales Technology team, I automated data source validations by creating a Tableau dashboard to monitor on-going data collection and compare digital consumption from different Ad Sales data sources. Additionally, I collaborated with a team of fellow interns to redesign the technology section of NBCUniversal’s careers website in order to attract top technical talent. I also had the opportunity to participate in official SAS trainings for data mining and forecasting and gain experience with the Domo cloud-based business intelligence software.
Undergraduate Research Assistant
I spent the summer after my freshman year working as an undergraduate research assistant for the Global Center for Big Data in Mobile Analytics within the Fox School of Business. This position was financed through a stipend I received from my President’s Scholarship. My time was spent researching and preparing presentations on different marketing topics. I presented these presentations to business professors from distinguished universities such as the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, Dartmouth College, Hong Kong University, and the University of Southern California. The topics of my presentations included mobile targeting, mobile analytics, big data, customer relationship management, and social gaming.
Student Intern, Technology Department
I worked full-time as a student intern for the technology department in my school district during my summer between high school and college. I originally secured this position as a participant in my high school’s career study program. I worked with the department for four weeks leading up to my high school graduation. The department was impressed enough with my work that they hired me for a full-time position over the summer. During my fourth months working for the technology department, I implemented a new inventory system of all computers, projectors, and printers in a school district of seven schools serving 5,900 students. Additionally, I organized Ethernet switches while gaining hands-on experience with hardware.
Peer Mentor
During my summers prior to my junior and senior years of high school, I worked as a Peer Mentor at the PAAL Program in Downingtown, PA. The PAAL Program is a secondary-educational program for adolescents between the ages of 14 and 21 with moderate to severe autism. During my time at PAAL, I helped autistic students develop interactive and social skills. My role was to support students with daily activities around the school and throughout the community.
