Work Experience

This past summer, I worked on the Demand & Delivery team in the Enterprise Technology department at CSC. My team bridged the relationship gap between business units and ET teams, assisted with the delivery of technology projects, and worked on continuously improving their demand to project process. My main role was to task out projects and assign resources to those tasks. I also worked on updating dashboards, excel spreadsheets and documentation. A bigger project I worked on was the Customer Engagement Analysis. We wanted to improve the demand to delivery process so I held interviews with delivery managers and portfolio managers to find out more about their role and what they did in this process so I could come up with improvement opportunities. I learned so much at this internship and am so grateful for the experience.

Last school year I was an Information Technology Assistant for the class Informations Systems in Organizations. In this position, I assisted students with navigating Salesforce, a customer relationship management service, and with learning JavaScript. I enjoyed helping students learn and this position was beneficial to me because it gave me more experience using these programs.

Two summers ago I was an intern at Pacifico Auto Group. I held many different roles at this internship while working in different departments including customer service and human resources. I developed many different skills while working in human resources because I was exposed to work that I’ve never seen before like employee benefits, employee time off and new hire paper work. I worked in Excel to analyze employee premiums to confirm they added up to the total premium our company was paying. Working with employee time off exposed me to different systems like CDKGlobal and Compli so now I know how to accomplish different tasks in each of these systems. Even though this internship doesn’t completely align with my major, it still taught me a lot so I am grateful for the experience.

Working as a lifeguard for the past four years has taught me a lot. It taught me to be responsible, attentive and a leader. Lifeguarding may seem like an easy summer job, but it is a very serious one as well. I have to be responsible and attentive while I’m on stand watching the patrons in the pool. Sometimes that can be difficult when members of the pool are trying to talk to you or when the pool is very crowded, but that’s the part that teaches me to be focused because I can’t let distractions get in the way of my job. Since I worked at the swim club for so long, I started to fill in as manager. This consisted of opening or closing the swim club when needed and being in charge of the other lifeguards. This part taught me to be a leader because I was the main person in charge and the person members came to if anything went wrong. I had to be able to make smart, quick decisions while on the job. This job taught me many skills, but it also gave me some of my best friends and a lot of memories. I am very thankful for the experience I had as lifeguard.
