Chapter Life Vice President, Alpha Xi Delta
As the Chapter Life Vice President of my sorority, I have played a key role in planning and executing a wide range of events and initiatives that enhanced both community engagement and internal operations. My responsibilities included attending executive board meetings every Sunday night, where we discussed strategy and coordinated upcoming events. I also presented weekly updates at our chapter meetings every Monday, keeping members informed on all initiatives. I serve until December 2025, which will be a full year in the role.
I organized all formals, date parties, and socials, while also serving as the risk manager for the chapter—a responsibility that directly aligns with my major. This role required meeting with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life to review event logistics, identify potential risks, and implement appropriate mitigation plans. I completed detailed event planning guides and provided sober monitor training to members to ensure the safety and success of our events.
I oversaw a team of four directors and delegated responsibilities as needed, gaining valuable experience in leadership and management. I also led the planning of three to four sisterhood events each month to build community and strengthen bonds within the chapter. One highlight this semester was organizing a self-defense class, which promoted personal safety while also reinforcing key concepts from my academic studies in risk management.
Additionally, I coordinate our semesterly retreats, which this term included an engaging and fun trip to the zoo. Following a leadership transition in which our chapter president stepped down, I stepped in as Interim President—an experience that has further developed my leadership, organization, and crisis management skills. This role has significantly enhanced my practical experience in event planning and risk management—skills that directly support my academic and career goals.
