Internship
Tolt Solutions, Inc. is the leading retail-focused IT expert, innovative technology solutions and managed services provider. Tolt is providing services to large clients like Ahold, Wawa, Giant, and BJ’s.
For my internship, I will be working with the Sales Effectiveness team on a project that will help the Sales Representatives to become more efficient and confident at their work with clients. We will be implementing a sales enablement software that will help us to manage the marketing and Sales Operations content and serve the right content to the client-facing associates at the right time.
My responsibilities will include collecting the requirements for the website, working with the vendor to insure the right execution of the software features, and gathering the content with the SMEs of the products and services the company sells.
I am looking forward to gain hands-on experience in the business environment, improve my time management skills, and apply various business and marketing skills acquired at the Fox School of Business over the past 3 years.
My Internship Experience
I have met with representatives from each of 6 Sales groups. I learned from them how they would use this type of Website and what information they would like to have at their fingertips via this Website, basically their requirements for the tool. Then I met with the vendor of the software to review the requirements and identified how they will be met. The bigger part of the project was to collect the content for the Website. It took the longest to find the right SMEs and find the available time slots on their busy schedules to review what content they already had available and what content needed to be developed. Overall, this has been an insightful and fulfilling experience. I had an opportunity to use the recently acquired Excel for Business skills, Business Writing course skills, and even Marketing skills in writing short messages with a call for action to the Sales Raps. I am staying with this team beyond the Internship time-frame to complete the project, and I maybe even taking a position to manage the Website going forward.
