Temple University and Phi Beta Lambda
Choosing to attend Temple University was the best decision I have ever made. I love the atmosphere so much and the Fox School of Business has been a great fit for me. Through Fox I have been able to join a number of student professional organizations including Phi Beta Lambda. It is a national business fraternity that enables all business majors to collaborate with one another in order to develop in a professional atmosphere. We are able to do this by hosting recruiters, holding workshops, and attending the annual competition for the FBLA-PBL states conference. The group also does many charity and community service events by working very closely with the March of Dimes. Phi Beta Lambda has enabled me to grow professionally, philanthropically, and socially, and I hope to continue to develop through the organization.
Dance
I started taking dance classes at the age of four and it has been a huge part of my life ever since. Not only has dance been a fun way to stay healthy and express myself, but it is also where I met some of my best friends. Dance has also helped me develop into the person that I am because it taught me discipline, time management, leadership skills, and the importance of hard work. It is an athletic activity that requires precision and full dedication. By taking up to seven different classes at once, I learned how to balance school, work, and practice by sticking to a tight schedule. As well as being a student, I also taught dance to young children which allowed me to share my skills through a leadership position. Above all, dance has showed me that it is important to be passionate about whatever I do, and that through hard work I can achieve my goals.
Although sometimes disappointing, I have always been a passionate and loyal Philadelphia sports fan! I particularly enjoy baseball and hockey, because I grew up watching the Phillies and Flyers. I find nothing more exciting than cheering on my teams because one big success makes all of the dedication (and losses along the way) worth it. Along with being a sports fan, I also grew up playing softball and basketball. Playing on a team has taught me to work with others and connect with them in order to reach a common goal. I continue to play softball through an intramural league at Temple University every spring. It is a great way to stay active and meet new people while doing something I love. One of the best parts about being on a team is knowing that whatever I do will impact the entire team for better or worse. This encourages me to always put forth my best effort and learn from my mistakes.
My family is the most important aspect of my life and they support me in everything that I do. Having a large family and being the oldest of six kids is amazing. It has taught me to be responsible and always be my best because my siblings look up to me. My family means the world to me and there is not much else to say!
