Building Manager
As a Building Manager at Temple University’s Student Center, I am employed as a part-time student worker responsible for overseeing the daily operations and safety of the facility. My role is sponsored by Temple University’s Campus Recreation and Community Services department. In this position, I manage building access, enforce university policies, and ensure a safe and welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff. My responsibilities include monitoring building activity, coordinating with event staff, responding to facility-related issues, and serving as a point of contact during evening and weekend shifts. Through this experience, I have developed strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. I have also gained practical experience in customer service, conflict resolution, and facility management — all of which are transferable to professional settings in business and information systems. This role has strengthened my ability to manage time effectively and work independently in a fast-paced environment, directly supporting my growth as an MIS professional.
