This summer, I worked at Art Of Living, PrimaMedia, Inc as a Web Master Intern. PrimaMedia is a boutique publisher originally specializing in culinary books. As the WebMaster Intern I Was responsible for creating the company’s new website, as they growing beyond their original products. Their website needed to contain an e-commerce store for current and upcoming books, a searchable events calendar, a list and location of current retail locations, and a form for authors to submit manuscripts for publishing. I learned how to use Axure RP to create an interactive prototype, and researching the best ways to customize WordPress with HTML, and CSS to meet their website needs. I learned how to create dynamic prototypes, and the steps of going from the clients idea to a fully functional website. This internship relied heavily on the website development knowledge I gained from Data-Centric Applications. It was eye opening to see how website creation functions in a company as opposed to a classroom project.
