I always believed that reading allows me to become a better writer through exposure to great writers and classic literature. Some of my favorite classics are 1984 by George Orwell, East of Eden by John Steinback, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Reading also provides a needed escape from reality other than the Internet and television. It allows me to imagine myself in the character’s shoes, and I used to spend hours upon hours losing myself in worlds that amazing authors have created. Getting lost in a book has been a luxury that I have been deprived of ever since I began my college career. However, through GoodReads, a social cataloging website, I can keep track of what I am currently reading and what I hope to read by a set amount of time.
