Building Trust through UX Design
This LinkedIn learning taught me that to build trust in users you need to make a good first impression. A good first impression can be made by focusing on the user, allowing the user to have autonomy but giving guidance where needed, functionality, visual aesthetics, accessibility, and respecting users’ privacy. All these things will build trust with users because the user starts with a positive feeling towards the application or website. It also is important to incorporate common design patterns not only from other applications you may have but across all applications. This way the user has a good idea of how to navigate the application and it feels familiar, even if it isn’t. Overall, the designers need to prioritize the users and respect and protect their privacy. The designer can get an idea if they’re doing this by conducting market research and user testing. A user needs to know that their secure and that the application or website was created with them in mind.
