Summer Intern
Throughout the summer, specifically 13, 3o hour weeks, I worked on a handful of MIS related projects for the up and coming real estate group, JBMP. First, I worked with the companies third-party web developer to develop landing pages for JBMP\\\’s new, high-scale residential and commercial properties. Personally, I coded a handful of landing pages using HTML, CSS, and some JavaScript to implement drone footage into the properties specific landing page. We then put these landing pages onto QR codes around the city for people to scan. Next, the owner, Maria, had me help her audit and change their Salesforce Program. I helped her develop a system to input voicemails into text and automatically send them through Salesforce to the company email. Finally, I helped implement HTML into their constant contact system. Thus, this drastically improved the layout of the mass emails they send to prospective leads. Although these were some of the more major projects I worked on throughout the summer, I gained experience with other softwares as well such as WordPress.
Overall, I learned a plethora of knowledge that I could not be taught in the classroom. Industry experience is completely different than classroom experience, yet I applied what I learned in the classroom to the specific projects that I worked on. For example, I learned the basics of HTML and CSS in my Web ApplicationDevelopment course last semester. From this basic knowledge, I was able to teach myself how to code a website towards the companies needs. Also, I was exposed to Salesforce for the first time in my Digital Systems class and applied that basic knowledge to a greater scale in my internship. All in all, it was a great experience that I learned a lot from. I am going to continue working for this company during the school year.
