Coursework
CIS 1001 – Intro to Academics in Computer Science
This is an introductory course where students are introduced to Computer and Information Sciences at Temple University. In this course I learned inter-disciplinary nature of the computers and Informations Systems. I was able to have hands-on experience with numerous educational technological tools and enhance my critical analysis and communication skills necessary for success.
CIS 1051 – Intro to Problem Solving and Programming – Python
This is a course that introduces students to computers, computer programming, and problem solving using programs written in the Python language. This course taught me how to solve small programming problems and write their solution in high quality small programs in Python. I also learned techniques of algorithm specification and debugging and testing of computer programs.
MIS 2101 – Information Systems in Organizations
MIS 2101 is an introductory course where students are taught the role of information systems and digital platforms in business and how digital products are conceived, designed, secured and deployed. Through this course, I learned several different component based software architectures such as customer relationship systems, enterprise systems, and swim-lane diagrams. The course also taught me about API’s and the coding language Javascript.
MIS 2402 – Web Application Development
This class was heavily based around coding in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. We created web-based applications that carry out a business process and integrate web-based services. After switching my major from computer science to MIS, this class gave me the opportunity to use my previous skills in coding and enhance them even more.
MIS 2502 – Data and Analytics
In Data and Analytics we navigate and query relational and NoSQL databases to support applications. We also combine multiple sources of data using extract, transform, and load for data cleansing. We learned how to discover insights from data using analytics software. NoSQL is largely used in many different applications so I am happy I was able to learn this type of database. I will be able to use the skills I learned from this class in jobs that use data implementation and computing distribution.
