Step Into Wellness
My Chapter Epsilon Delta of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. hosted a Health Fair/Blood Drive at Aramark STAR Complex. We collaborated with the Philadelphia Alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., American Red Cross, Greater Philadelphia Health Action, Inc., and many more. As President of the chapter, I worked with these organizations to host, facilitate, and overall organize this initiative. The goal was to provide different health options for the North Philadelphia community. Additionally, our goal was to have at least 100 people donate blood for American Red Cross initiatives. As a result, over 250 attendees, both Temple students and North Philadelphia residents attended and gained access to more health resources. Also, 110 people donated blood for a greater cause, so we also reached our goal in that aspect. I learned the importance of always giving back to the community, but especially in areas where they lack resources, such as access to health care.
