Home and Abroad

I am currently an International Trade Specialist for the U.S Department of Commerce, counseling SMEs on their international business development efforts, primarily focused on increasing their international sales. My responsibilities include but are not limited to, providing guidance on international business practices and export regulations, identifying relevant opportunities and trade events, organizing trade missions and educational export workshops, recruiting and managing our internship program, and maintaining our website.

I began my journey with Commerce as an intern at their Philadelphia location. After a successful semester in Philadelphia, I applied and was accepted to participate in a summer international internship at the U.S Commercial Service office in Mexico City.  I lived in Mexico City, on my own, and was able to gain a deeper understanding of the import side of the organization.  Interacting with local colleagues and companies also enabled me to improve my Spanish while learning how to work effectively in diverse teams, and expand my international network.

Fall outing with my fellow White Hall staff members!

While at Temple, I was also a Resident Assistant (RA) at Temple University’s James S. White Hall, residence hall.  Some of my responsibilities included making the residents’ transition to college easier by planning events, referring them to on-campus resources, and advising them on personal and academic issues.  Being an RA was a very rewarding experience because I was a positive role model who enhanced residents’ first-year college experience.
