Personal Interests: Where to Begin!?
Experiencing the culture and lifestyle of three different countries by the time I was nine years old, has made understanding the cultures and traditions of others, a passion. The adventures I have had in India, Spain, and Mexico, to name a few, have changed my life and improved my ability to communicate with others. Becoming an international business student has further highlighted the importance of understanding others culture, in order to succeed as a team.
My first independent travel experience was living in Spain for a year. Studying abroad in Madrid and working in Mexico City, the following summer,not only improved my Spanish speaking skills but it also enhanced my problem solving skills, ability to communicate with diverse individuals, and my understanding of our globalized world.

While studying abroad in Madrid and living in Mexico, I volunteered to teach English classes to members of the surrounding community. This was my first experience teaching and at the completion of my service I felt great pride knowing that my efforts improved my students’ confidence in their English speaking skills. Teaching was incredible because I was able to build relationships with the locals and learn about their country. The more I travel, the more I believe that complete cultural immersion is necessary to truly learn and understand the traditions of a country and how those traditions influence daily living, and business practices.
