The goals for graduates of the ITACS program include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrate an understanding of the IT audit process and apply it to business situations<\/li>\n<li>Describe how an IT organization should be governed and managed<\/li>\n<li>Explain how IT systems are implemented and recommend appropriate controls<\/li>\n<li>Describe how IT services are delivered and maintained and recommend appropriate controls<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate how to test information security controls and protect an organization\u2019s information.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate the ability to conduct research related to emerging IT issues<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Key milestones<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>2011 &#8211; ITACS Master of Science program started by Professor Richard Flanagan who serves as Program Director 2012-2016<\/li>\n<li>2011 &#8211; ITACS Industry Advisory Council formed<\/li>\n<li>2012 &#8211; First ITACS students admitted and instruction begins in Fall semester<\/li>\n<li>2012 &#8211; <a title=\"ISACA Accepts ITACS as Aligned\" href=\"http:\/\/community.mis.temple.edu\/itacs\/2012\/09\/06\/isaca-accepts-itacs-as-aligned\/\">ITACS accepted as aligned program by ISACA<\/a><\/li>\n<li>2013 &#8211; First class of students graduate with Master of Science in Information Technology Audit and Cyber Security degrees<\/li>\n<li>2014 &#8211; 100% of ITACS graduates placed in program related jobs<\/li>\n<li>2014 &#8211; Students enrolled in new Cyber Security Track<\/li>\n<li>2015 &#8211; ITACS students achieve CISA (Certified Information System Auditor) exam scores in top 10% of those taking exam<\/li>\n<li>2015 &#8211; ITACS student team makes it the finals of the National Cyber Analyst Challenge<\/li>\n<li>2016 &#8211; ITACS student team wins gold award during qualification round and again makes it the finals of the National Cyber Analyst Challenge<\/li>\n<li>2016 &#8211; Professor David Lanter an ITACS graduate, geographer and software design engineer with 30 years experience joins Temple University and serves as Program Director<\/li>\n<li>2016 &#8211; Kapish Vanvaria of EY appointed Chair of ITACS Industry Advisory Council<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The nationally recognized ITACS program is offered by the Department of Management Information Systems.
