Interests/Hobbies

One of my favorite activities to participate in throughout my entire life was sports.  In high school I played football, basketball, and rugby.  I continued my sport playing tradition in college by participating in intramural basketball.  I enjoy staying active and sports allow me to do so in a competitive nature.  Playing sports has helped me to grow as a person as my communication and teamwork skills were constantly tested through every practice and big game.  Without these sports in my life I would have not been able to develop these life skills in such a positive and productive way.

I also enjoy to go fly fishing.  My love for fly fishing is something that I have grown up with as a big part of my life.  Both my father and grandfather are avid fly fisherman and their love for it has definately rubbed off on me.  I am now able to spend quality time with them through this fun activity.  Every year, my father, grandfather, great uncle, 2nd cousin, and I are able to travel to my grandfathers private fishing club for a week of fishing.  I cherish these memories with them, and will never forget them for as long as I live.  Fishing has also taught me the value of patience.  There are some days when you go out and really struggle to catch anything, but it is important to not be discouraged.  When the day comes where you reel in the big fish, the days of struggling to catch anything make the experience that much better.
