Student Cafe Executive Officer
In the Spring of 2023 I will be working full time at Saxbys as the S.C.E.O, essentially the manager of this individual cafe in Alter Hall. My daily and semester-long responsibilities include overseeing the cafe and ensuring it is running efficiently through building and managing a team of employees as well as managing finances and inventory. This is a great exposure to managing, which I will need to do within my career post graduation.
Projects I complete include:
- Weekly scheduling for team members
- Weekly orders for inventory
- Reports of finances
- Marketing for the cafe: signage, social media, seasonal specials
- Collaborating with community: fundraisers, attendance at events
- Professional Development: bi-weekly attendance at professional development sessions
This internship teaches time-management, financial management, and communication, which are all extremely important in a business career. These skills will be useful in my career and will enhance my majors of marketing and MIS with real-world business experience.
