Six Skills to Develop Cultural Agility
I completed a professional development course on Linkedln Learning. The course consisted of six chapters and quizzes at the end of each chapters. The course was about how to develop cultural agility and why it’s important to have it. I learned about how people go wrong when interacting with people from other cultures and it’s due to assuming and biases. They speak about reducing black and white thinking to be able to be receptive and wholly understand those from other cultures. They talk about the six skill of cultural agility and how to implement those when interacting with people and even by yourself. Some things they mention are asking for feedback, being curious, and active listening. This helps with my career goals because I do want to be able to work in environments with other cultures and maybe even abroad on day, so the skills helped with how to thrive with others from different cultures than you.
