TerraCycle (October 2012-August 2013)

Business Development Team Intern – Trenton, NJ (October 2012-December 2012)

I began my adventures with TerraCycle when I interned with their Business Development team at their global headquarters office. During this time, I had the opportunity to work closely with TerraCycle’s US Director of Business Development and VP of Global Business Development to forge partnerships with some of the largest brands in the world including Nestle, J&J, P&G, and Kraft. I also assisted in drafting presentations, identifying areas of opportunity, and researching potential partners through mining of 300+ contacts. Additionally, I developed and posted internship opportunities for the BD team to multiple colleges/universities across the nation.

Executive Team Intern – Trenton, NJ (December 2012-August 2013)

Following my work with their BD Team, I have the opportunity to intern TerraCycle’s Executive team, which consisted of the CEO, CAO, VP of Legal, and Senior Executive Associate. Here, I served as the Internship Program Coordinator for TerraCycle’s US Headquarter’s 2013 Summer Internship Program, which consisted 70+ interns. This work included developing and managing all objectives such as the program’s recruitment strategy, resources, logistics, and events. I also managed the main headquarter’s Careers page, while working with managers across multiple departments on individual recruitment strategies. Moreover, I developed the company’s first HRIS database, which contained all interns dating back to the company’s start.

DACH (Germany) Team Intern – Mainz, Germany (June 2013-July 2013)

Outside of my work at TerraCycle’s global headquarters, I had the opportunity to intern with TerraCycle’s DACH team, which manages the company’s Germany, Austria, and Switzerland operations at their international office in Mainz, Germany. While in Germany, I began the process of developing the first Public Location Collections in Germany region. Though, one of my was projects overseas was when I utilized Google Analytics to identify insights for the company website. Following this, I presented my findings and taught proper use of Google Analytics to entire DACH Team.

Newtown Athletic Club (October 2007-May 2013)

Swim Instructor/Coach – Newtown, PA (October 2007-May 2013)

I began my time at the Newtown Athletic Club as a Lifeguard in their Aquatics Department when I was a freshman in high school. Shortly after, my roles and responsibilities grew as I began teaching and instructing swim lessons. Over the next five years, I successfully taught an estimated 1500+ group and private swim lessons ranging in age from toddler to adult, and ranging in skill from beginner to competitive/triathlete. During this time, I also had the opportunity to coach the “NAC Attack” Swim Team for 5 successful seasons through 300+ intensive practices and multiple competitive swim meets.

Supervisor – Newtown, PA (September 2011-May 2013)

During the fall of 2011, I was promoted to a Supervisor in the Aquatics Department. Here, I  oversaw many areas of the aquatics department such as coordination of swim lessons, aquatics “open houses” and member relations in an athletic club that contained close to 4,000 members. I also directed dozens of employees through transformational leadership, as well as, fulfilled, and assisted on, many processes such as performance evaluations, interviewing, hiring, scheduling, and outgoing customer service calls. Outside of this, I had the chance to develop a new departmental training program aimed to motivate and coach new employees into becoming successful swim instructors.
