IT Project Management Intern
This summer, I had the opportunity to work as an IT Project Management Intern for Schlesinger Group. This was truly an enriching experience because not only did I gain valuable insight on the inner workings of IT Project Management, but I also was exposed to other areas of IT such as Infrastructure and Security and Compliance.
Throughout the course of my internship, I worked on a diverse set of projects. I was given my own projects to oversee and complete, taught the ropes of IT Help Desk ticketing, supported on various IT projects like creating a guide for end users using a new software, and learned how to utilize different software and tools like Jira Service Management, Jira Work Management, Smartsheet, and FreshService just to name a few. This experience has exceeded my expectations, as it has allowed me to expand my knowledge and professional interests in IT Project Management.
Aside from completing or supporting projects, I created and implemented different automations for a more efficient process, created a variety of project forms and trackers, created and presented different content in meetings, updated SharePoint sites, as well as updated and tracked different sets of users updates and changes.
My education at Temple University as a Management Information Systems Major truly set me up for this position. Having the background knowledge to be so hands-on with my internship gave me the confidence to be so involved day to day in the IT Team. I am grateful to have had this opportunity, and I look forward to using the skillset I have built into my last year at Temple University!
