Opportunity Knocks: What Employers Want: The Importance of Work Ethic and Teamwork
Mainline Chamber hosted a virtual event for students and other individuals looking to understand what employers are looking for in job candidates on March 16th, 2022.
Through this event I learned that though different companies look for different skill sets, soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and creative thinking are relevant as well. I also learned that in the virtual environment that many companies have moved to, being proactive and taking the initiative to make connections and understand how the team comes together is something important to keep in mind.
In attending this event, I have learned to identify the skills that I need to improve on and how to translate my experiences in non-professional settings to skills that can be applied in a professional environment.
