QVC
QVC is the world’s leading video and ecommerce retailer, offering a curated collection of desirable brands to millions of customers around the globe each day through broadcast, Internet, and mobile sales platforms. Out of all of my wonderful internship expereince QVC has been by far the most rewarding learning ecpereince of them all. QVC has given me the most in depth look into what the corporate retail world is like.
As an Online Marketing Intern on the CSE (Comparison Shopping Engine) and Display Ads team, I gained real world expereince managing sales and spend reports, reading and collecting data from Tableau 8.1 and presenting those reports to each merchandiser category such as Kitchen & Food and Home Decor. I also managed countless other reports such as Search Term Reporting, Sales & Spend Reporting and our Top Selling Brands and Products Report.
I also took part in a summer intern program project where I worked with 7 other interns in order to present to senior management a way to use social media to bring in a new demographic to QVC, while still engaging the exsisting customer base. Through this project I learned how to work as not only a team but as a mini QVC, with interns from every department, in order to get the job done efficiently and successfully.
QVC also gave me the freedom to explore all areas of the business such as Productions, Creative, Ecommerce, Paid Search, SEO, Email Marketing and so many more. As part of the Online Marketing department I worked very closely with the Affiliate team, as well as the Paid Serach and SEO teams. After all of my work and involvment in QVC I know that digital marketing is where I would like to focus my career.
Skai Blue Media
Skai Blue Media is a Multimedia publications agency that talks to its clients in all relms to marketing and Public Relations. I previouslt held a Social Media Intern position where I worked with various client accounts as well as manage Skai Blue Media accounts and all of Rakia Reynolds'(CEO) accounts. I also got the previlage of working on promoting the Serena Williams Signature Statement collection on HSN.
Sweet Rose Studios
Sweet Rose Studios is a boutique online marketing firm that deals with aiding small businesses with digital marketing strategies. I held a Digital Marketing Analyst position, where I work directly with the CEO, Sean Rose. Within the company, I do various marketing tasks such as: 1) write and maintain a weekly marketing blog on a variety of topics such as online marketing, analytics, content marketing, and social media marketing; 2) Generate monthly analytics reports from Google Analytics for several of clients including a Dance studio, Interior design company, landscaping company, and an art studio; and 3) Manage SEO implementations using Google Analytics and Google Adwords for all clients.
This position has taught me more then I could ever imagine to learn about the digital marketing industry, as well as prepared me for future endeavors in related fields.
Nanny
I love spending time with children so when I heard of the website care.com, which helps families find nannies as well as nannies find families, I had to make a profile immediately. I have been babysitting all ages of children for five years now and have been nannying for three.
Currently, I have established a long term relationship with a family with two children, ages four and seven. I nanny the children full-time in the summer and part-time during the school year. I enjoy helping with whatever the parents need. I do not consider myself an employee but more a part of their family. Being a full-time nanny has made me more organized, able to take on multiple tasks at once, and keep calm under stressful situations. Everyday is different will children, which makes me ready for anything.
The Drafting Room
Working as a hostess has been the most educational job I have ever obtained. I have learned about what it takes to run a successful business, how to work well will others, how to organize and how to manage others. Working at The Drafting Room, I have established a working relationship with all of my managers, including the owner. This relationship has allowed me to return as an employee at anytime if need be. As lead hostess, I organized the restaurant floor, managed waitress work load, managed and trained other hostess’, and provided exceptional customer service to a demanding client base. Hostessing has prepared me for a fast past work environment as well as working with others as a team.
