The Owl Fund
The William C. Dunkelburg Owl fund is a large cap equity investment portfolio managing $250,000 of Temple University’s endowment. The fund is completely student run, and has outperformed its S&P 500 benchmark by 235 basis points since its inception in 2010. Roughly 90% of professional money managers have under-preformed the S&P 500 in the same time frame.
I joined the Owl Fund’s parent organization, the Temple University Investment Association, the beginning of my sophomore year as an associate analyst for the financials sector of the virtual currency Fox Fund. Since then, I have been recognized for my work ethic and presentation abilities by being promoted to lead analyst of the consumer discretionary sector of the Fox fund, then to my current position as an Associate Analyst in the Financials Sector of the Owl Fund. In this position, I work with the lead of the financials sector and my fellow associate in the screening, thesis creation, financial and economic analysis, and pitch creation for large cap financial equities. I also specialize in macroeconomic analysis and trend identification within the Insurance sub-sector.
