Interests, Hobbies, and Activities
Music
Music is my passion. I love all kinds of music, especially Alternative and Indie Rock. My favorite bands include artists such as Against Me!, Interpol, and My Morning Jacket. I’ve been a musician all my life and can play several instruments, including guitar, piano, and bass. I am also a songwriter, and preforming live shows is one of my favorite things in the world. I’ve been in several bands in my life, though they’ve mostly been just for fun. I love to jam with other musicians. In my opinion, it is almost magical when a group of people, who usually all play completely different styles of music, can come together and create music. My biggest influences as a songwriter and as a guitarist are Jack White (The White Stripes, The Raconteurs), Brian Fallon (The Gaslight Anthem), and Dave Gilmour (Pink Floyd). I hope to one day release an album or EP of original songs I’ve written.
Snowboarding/Skiing
I’ve been snowboarding and/or skiing in Colorado, Vermont, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. In my opinion, snowboarding is one of the most relaxing activities there is. I skied for 10 years before I tried snowboarding when I was 14. I haven’t gone back to skiing since.
Volunteer Work
I love doing volunteer and missionary work. I was raised to believe that those who have the means to help others have a moral duty to do so. I’ve been to Nicaragua on two separate occasions, working to bring water to rural communities, and both times I was told by those whom I helped that I had changed their life. I’ve also done volunteer work in the city of Pittsburgh I feel truly blessed that I can live a life as great as mine is, and Iwant to give back to others who aren’t as fortunate.
