Processional Development: Heightened Visions: The Dynamic World of Drone Photography
This webinar was supported by temple and led by Chase Guttman, award-winning travel photographer and author of The Handbook of Drone Photography. I learned a brief history of drones and what they exactly are classified as in many different environments. This included details for the safe flying along with how to use and the regulations of drone flying. Chris Guttman also went on to teach about the best ways to enhance your pictures taken with a drone, the ideal ways to center the image you want to photograph. This included photographing different textures and in different environments with changing weathers. I found this webinar very interesting because as an MIS major my future is in technology, and to see how people are using ever advancing technology such as drones in the everyday life is truly inspiring. I can use the information learned to have a deeper understanding of technological advancements as I pursue my future career goals and current courses in the MIS department.
7th Annual Temple Analytics Competition
During Fall 2018, I participated in a Temple Analytics Competition. I complete this competition with a classmate and we had to draw information from big data resources and display our findings with a visual. This challenge allowed me to collaborate with a partner to make a collective decisions on solutions discovered from mass data. Then, being able to communicate this solution from a technical standpoint to a business standpoint using graphics and phrases that business professionals with no IT backgrounds could understand. I learned a lot from this in terms of using data to benefit me and portray it in a business professional way, which is extremely valuable.
Fox IT Career Fair
I attended an IT career fair hosted by the Fox School of Business of Temple University in Fall 2018. This allowed me to interact with many business professionals in the Information Systems field. I was able to talk with many potential employers and further my networking experience by doing so. This event was extremely important by allowing me to develop my interpersonal skills with professionals, and the ability to find a potential place of employment.
