Introduction to Data Visualization
On October 16, 2025 I attended the Introduction to Data Visualization presentation with Mr. Will Dean, hosted by the Charles Library. In this presentation, we learned this basics of Tableau and how to use it to tell a story with our data. I originally wanted to attend this meeting because data analytics is actually something that interests me, and I could certainly see myself applying for a job in this field in the future. This lesson tied in perfectly to the Data Analytics class that I am currently taking as well. In this lesson, we learned how to create graphs, use filters, and create calculated fields in Tableau. Data visualization pairs well with my skills I have learned in MIS, like UX, UI, and using Python to visualize data. All in all, I found this Zoom meeting to be worthwhile, and I could see myself using it in a future career. I attached the photo of me in the Zoom call below.
