Work Experience
Amedeo’s Too:
I have been working in the food industry for the past five years and the experience has been a hugely beneficial one. I am currently employed at Amedeo’s Too, located in Norristown, PA. In the beginning, I started out washing dishes and busing tables, which is the lowest position to have in the restaurant industry. From there, I worked my way up to Prep Line, to Cook, and now to Chef Assistant. As a Chef Assistant and Catering Assistant, I am in charge of making sure that everything runs smoothly between the kitchen and the dining room, as well as monitoring the catering side of the business. Another responsibility is making sure that the delivery side of the business is organized and running smoothly and timely. Amedeo’s is constantly expanding and improving so you have to be ready for change at all times. This requires me to constantly be prepared for diversity and trying to find the new, innovative way to run
things.
Smart Moms:
I am also a manager for the business, Smart Moms. Every three months, I set up and break down the business. Smart moms is a mom and pop business that is designed to resell second hand clothes for young children. They hold a sale every three months and I have an integral role in the sale. Before the sale, I am in charge of organizing the set up and renting of all tools and amenities necessary for a successful sale. At the end of the sale, I am in charge of organizing the the take down and clean up of all remaining products and equipment.
