Hello,
My name is Karan Shah and I currently a junior at Temple University in the Fox School of Business pursuing a BBA in Accounting and Finance. I expected to graduate May 2016. I was born in India and lived there for eleven years. I moved to America in 2004. I am currently a member in Ascend and Institute of Management Accountants at Temple. Ascend and IMA-T are both student professional organizations, specifically for students who are accounting, finance or related majors. Both of these SPO’s helped me by giving me great tips about interviews as well as how I should talk to professionals that visit Temple. They also helped me get through my shyness which allowed me to easily talk to professional from accounting firms and connect with them.
I chose Accounting and Finance because they are very interesting and how they shape a business. Accounting is always going to need in a business and I know that I will be successful as an Accountant as long as I work hard. It also teaches me to solve problems because accountants always have to make decisions about certain issues or other important decisions in a business. I have always been interesting in business activities but after a lot of research and understanding the importance of business I decided to choose Accounting and Finance.
