MIS 0855- Data Science.
This course teaches students from which sources data comes from, what kind of forms, how it is organized and analyzed, and visualized. This course introduces students to Tableau that helps to organize data and visualize it. A lot of data is easier to read through visualizations, and students have a lot of practice in visualizing different data in the most effective way. This course teaches students how to present data to a different audience, and I find it very helpful because I had a lot of practice with Tableau and know how to show data in a way that people with no knowledge in business will understand it. I also think it saves a lot of time visualizing data because it is easier to read it that way and people don’t have much of time in the business world, and it is essentially important to know how to present results as clear and quick as possible.
MIS 2101- Information Systems in Organizations
An introductory course for Management Information Systems that demonstrates students business foundations nowadays by teaching Customer Relationship Management systems (CRMs), cloud computing, swimlane diagrams, enterprise systems, and artificial intelligence. It presents how a business operates and teaches students to see “big picture”. In this class, student practice with Salesforce, great software to demonstrate how some tasks can be automized such as email, collect data, predict outcomes, present data, and etc.
