Within technical IS, he is focusing on the fields of quantitative modeling and data science. In particular, Konstantin works on developing novel machine learning methods for predicting customer preferences, and designing novel approaches to recommender systems that provide better personalized advice to the customers.<\/p>\n<p>Before joining Fox School of Business, Konstantin Bauman worked as a postdoctoral research scientist in the IOMS Department at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.stern.nyu.edu\/experience-stern\/about\/departments-centers-initiatives\/academic-departments\/ioms-dept\">Leonard N. Stern School of Business, NYU<\/a>. Konstantin also worked in industry as a head of machine learning group at the research department of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/yandex.com\/company\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yandex LLC.<\/a>\u00a0where he dealt with large-scale machine learning and data science problems on a daily basis. Konstantin received his M.S. in Mathematics from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.msu.ru\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Moscow State University<\/a>\u00a0in 2008, his M.S. in Data Mining from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mipt.ru\/english\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology<\/a>\u00a0in 2009, and his Ph.D. in Geometry and Topology from the Mathematical Department of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.msu.ru\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Moscow State University<\/a>\u00a0in 2012.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Konstantin Bauman is an Assistant Professor at the\u00a0Management Information Systems Department\u00a0of the\u00a0Fox School of Business,\u00a0Temple University.
