Audit IT Assurance Associate
Grant Thornton is a global professional services firm that offers audit, tax, and advisory services. I work in the Philadelphia office as an Audit IT Assurance Associate, supporting a variety of client engagements and helping ensure that technology and IT controls are effectively integrated into the audit process. My responsibilities include preparing workpapers, documenting test results, and participating in client walkthroughs to gain a clear understanding of business processes and related controls. I manage multiple engagements simultaneously, performing tasks such as testing access controls, reviewing IT general controls, and evaluating IT audit evidence provided by clients. I also actively seek mentorship and guidance from my colleagues within the IT Audit team to continuously strengthen my skills and knowledge.
This role has deepened my understanding of IT risk and the audit process while allowing me to apply both of my majors. I leverage my Accounting knowledge of internal controls and audit standards alongside my MIS expertise in systems and security to provide value to clients and contribute to the team’s success.
