Future Goals & Career Objectives

In May of 2017 I will be graduating Temple University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems. Post graduation, I would like to start my career working in the cyber security field as an Information Security Analysis however, I’m also interested in IT consulting and app development. One of my 10 year goals is to go back to Temple University as a graduate student to get a MS in IT Audting and Cyber Security.

One area in the industry I would love to learn more about is how technology services such as Microsoft, are implementing new systems to keep offices safe. Microsoft just released new security and data protection software claiming that more and more organizations are being hacked using legitimate tools such as user credentials and other valid ways of getting into databases other than malware. Microsoft’s latest security feature is called Microsoft Advanced Threat Analysis or ATA. This application uses features such as log file analysis, which would notify the host if someone with authorized access were logging into the database at a weird time, from an unusual machine or even in an unknown location. Microsoft also announced that they were creating a new Outlook app on the IPhone and Android that will let administrators restrict the ability to copy, paste, and attach on emails so that private company files cannot be sitting in emails or hacked through emails.

It is important that businesses keep their documents secure and not easily accessible to multiple people and computers. I would like to work one day in this field keeping businesses secure and making sure their important documents stay within the database.
