National Hispanic Institute

I was a participant in the National Hispanic Institute’s Young Leadership Conference, and Lorenzo de Zavala’s Youth Legislative Session. It was a great honor to be able to participate in these two programs. In the LDZ program, participants went to Rochester, New York and stayed at the University of Rochester for a week. It was definitely a life changing experience. Here, students from all over the world came together to develop strong skills that last a life time. I will always remember this experience, and hope to volunteer in the future to keep this program alive for years to come.

 

“The Lorenzo de Zavala Youth Legislative Session (LDZ) is the most recognized high school age leadership program of NHI. Started in 1983, the overall challenge of the LDZ is for the students to envision themselves as part of the future leadership of a 21st Century Latino community.”
