Web Mapping for Non-Programmers: Create Interactive Maps Without Code
I learned how to build professional, interactive web maps using no-code tools, especially uMap. During the session, I practiced creating custom maps through a simple point-and-click interface and learned key map design principles to make maps clear and engaging. I also learned how to import data from different sources, use uMap’s collaborative editing features to work with others on the same project, and embed finished maps into a website or presentation. Overall, I came away with a practical workflow for creating shareable maps that can be used for research, teaching, and storytelling—without needing any programming experience.
