Interests/Hobbies
Dirt Racing has been a big part of my life since I was 5 years old. I started racing 1/4 midgets and at the age of 16 moved up into full sized race cars racing a dirt late model and most recently switching over to racing a dirt modified for the 2014 racing season. Racing is a way of life for our family, as I have two other brothers who are race car drivers. I race on the weekend at either our local dirt tracks, or traveling around the mid-Atlantic or Northeast racing at different tracks. Being a race car driver has taught me useful skills, that many people wouldn’t believe. To set-up/tune in our race car for a particular track, I need to apply geometry and physics to get my race car to handle properly, and be as fast as is it can be.
I also have a strong interest in ice hockey. I started playing when I was 4 and played through high school. I played on travel teams, mainly for the Valley Forge Colonials and then played for my high school team, the Boyertown Bears. Hockey has taught me skills I can apply to the work environment; such as team work, motivation, and discipline. One of my most prized achievements playing hockey was winning the Can/Am Challenge Cup played in Lake Placid, NY. I got to play on the 1980 Olympic arena where the “Miracle” happened when team USA beat the Soviets. Hockey has taken me as far north as Canada all the way down to North Carolina and everywhere in between.
