ABHINAVA DANCE COMPANY-fusing ethnic and modern genres of music & dance
Today is a beautiful Sunday with cool breeze, and warm sunshine. We went to Abhinava Dance Academy founded by a renowned dancing couple-Nirupama and Rajendra- in 1994. The dance studio located in a quite street, away from a noisy market. First, Nirupama had an introduction about the movement of dance – foot, face, eyes gestures; some examples to symbolize of specific animals such as a peacock, and elephant etc. Abhinava’s dance group performed several performances, which are traditional and the fusion of ethnic and modern genres of dancing. Especially, the dance recalled the love story of Krishna and Radha. Radha controlled Krishna with her true love. After their performances, I had very deep appreciation, and admiration to all the dancing artists. I admired their passion, love and dedication to Indian traditional dance. Abhinava’s dance artists with a passionate vision to make traditional Indian dance more accessible to audiences in India and across the world. Nirupama and Rajendra created an unique style of dancing which has a wide range of global music including Jazz, Spanish. Moreover, the academy offers regular training classes, workshops to teach, and to nurture talented dancers. Abhinava Dance Academy is also deeply aware of its Corporate Social Responsibility. The artists are actively participated in fundraising through their performances to support needy sections of Indian society.
