Daily activities of common people in Mumbai

First impression I stepped out the gate of Mumbai airport. There are  two taxi drivers waiting for me more than 2 hours because of my delayed flight. They greeted me with warm handshakes, and said “Namaste, welcome to Mumbai”. On the way to the hotel, I had a chance to observe daily activities of common people. The majority of people are living in the bottom of the society. I guess they are from different parts of India. They move to Mumbai with only hope that they can have better future, and provide better life life for family and children. But Mumbai’s life is very difficult to earn money and afford for their housing. Many people work extremely hard, and try to save most of their earnings. They do not care about their living or health conditions, but they hope that their children would have better education and bright futures. I took several pictures – a taxi driver having a short nap between his long working hours, a group of young teenagers whose parents probably come from different regions outside Mumbai, a man selling food on a street to earn little money to support his family. Many aspects of people’ lives create a Mumbai’s unique culture.
