AmerisourceBergen Internship
Since Summer 2015, I have been working as a Marketing Intern at AmerisourceBergen, a pharmaceutical wholesaler in Conshohocken, PA.
• Assist with the marketing initiatives across AmerisourceBergen Drug Corporation, including development and production of marketing materials and web page updates on our sales portal.
• Provide support to the email marketing efforts by creating HTML and template emails, deploying, and tracking marketing analytics of emails to our customers through SalesForce Marketing Cloud/ExactTarget.
• Utilize SalesForce to create and manage customer lists for surveys, emails, and other marketing purposes.
• Use project management software to ensure the completion of ongoing projects while collaborating with teams across the US and Canada.
• Handle the creation and implementation of Good Neighbor Pharmacy B2B Twitter posts, monitor social media activity, and engage with other industry groups and customers.
Through this internship, I’ve gained valuable knowledge in three key areas: 1) software/programs, 2) marketing, and 3) soft skills. I learned how to use SalesForce Marketing Cloud, SalesForce CRM, Smartsheet, StreetSmart, Event App, and Concur. I learned about different areas of marketing, including, email marketing, website creation, social media marketing, event planning, material development, and project presentations. I gained soft skills that are vital in any job, including meeting etiquette, professionalism, and communication effectiveness.
