Work Experience

BARNEYS NEW YORK

barneys

Over the summer of 2014, I worked as a Digital Marketing Intern at Barneys New York headquarters in New York City. My role largely focused on the affiliate and display aspects of web marketing. I used Google Analytics to analyze the acquisition paths of Barneys.com and BarneysWarehouse.com visitors. From this analysis, I was able to identify websites driving the most traffic to Barneys’ site and research opportunities to develop new affiliate partnerships. I also had the opportunity to analyze Barneys’ websites and present my findings and recommendations to the Web Marketing team.

I am a Head Style Guru Intern for the online fashion publication, CollegeFashionista. CollegeFashionista showcases the trends and styles that grace college campuses across the globe. I began writing for the site in January 2013 and currently compose weekly posts offering style advice to college students. This responsibility includes capturing a photo of a trendy college student, writing a corresponding description, and explaining how other students can work the look into their wardrobe. In August 2013, I also began writing for the site’s interior design column, CollegeDormista. My experience with CollegeFashionista has given me the opportunity to participate in exclusive editorial campaigns with Seventeen Magazine, The Zoe Report, American Eagle Outfitters, Hunter Boots, Victoria’s Secret PINK, Kohls and Amazon Fashion.  Please click here to view my published work.

BURLINGTON

During the summer of 2013, I completed a 10-week internship with Burlington Coat Factory at their headquarters in Burlington, NJ. I was an intern in the Advertising and Graphics Department, supporting creative projects that were used for marketing purposes. For the brand’s fall fashion mailer, I assisted with layout/story ideas, merchandise selection, model selection, and photo shoot management. I also developed creative copy for Burlington’s mailers, social media, email advertisements, and in-store scripts. Working in the graphics department, I learned to design emails and social media graphics in Photoshop. Additionally, I had the opportunity to support an Extra TV segment that was shot at the Teen Vogue offices in New York. For this project, I assisted in selecting merchandise to feature on model and styled the model on the day of the shoot. Click here to view the feature.

SORRELLI JEWELRY

During the summer of 2012, I worked as a Marketing/Retail Store Intern at Sorrelli Jewelry, a family-owned fashion jewelry business in Kutztown, PA. This internship afforded me the unique opportunity to experience both the retail management and corporate sides of the fashion jewelry industry. Working at the retail store, I was in constant contact with the product and customers. This allowed me to familiarize myself with the brand and understand how special the product is to the Sorrelli customer. A solid understanding of the culture came into play when communicating to the target audience through Sorrelli’s social media feeds.

Over the course of my internship, I was responsible for organizing data from in-store promotions and special events to analyze and track the effectiveness of the marketing materials used. I was also given the opportunity to contribute my photography skills to drive store traffic by composing photographs of the product to post to social media feeds, such as the photo at left. Additionally, I was immersed in the retail environment through the creation of product displays and participation in the execution of the Fall 2012 Collections window display.
