About Me
My name is Lamar Dixon. I currently attend Temple University as a Senior pursuing a degree in Management Information Systems.
I have spent 14 honorable years in the United States Air Force as a Logistics Manager. I have been stationed in Virginia, Qatar, Turkey and Italy. Once I separated from the military in December 2011, I applied for different jobs that asked for experience and a degree. I had the experience, but I did not have a degree. For the next four months, I heard this statement several times. In May 2012, I decided to take hold of my future and attend the Community College of Philadelphia.
Once I enrolled in CCP, I carefully selected Management of Computer Information Technology as the degree I wanted to acquire. During my tenure at CCP, I was inducted as a member of the Alpha Beta Gamma International Honor Society, accepted for the dual admission program at Temple University and I also was a active Student Veterans Association member. I graduated CCP with an Associate in Arts degree December 2013.
Upon graduation from CCP, I enrolled in classes at Temple University’s Fox School of Business as a Management Information Systems student. I am expected to graduate May 2016.
When I have free time I enjoy reading and running. I also volunteer at the Alliance for Progress Charter School where I recently received a Certificate of Recognition for my efforts.
