Since the beginning of my college career in 2008 I’ve worked for Starwood hotels in the Philadelphia Airport complex; Sheraton Suites, Aloft, and Four Points. During my time here in the food & beverage department as a server and a bartender I’ve learned much about the corporate hospitality industry that I can relate to many of my classes in the first half of my business degree. I’ve seen the effects that accounting, human resources, and more importantly sales and marketing have had on the properties I work for. I believe with my experience in the hotel hospitality and food service industry along with my current studies will allow me to be a successful candidate in the marketing sector. I have implemented tasks such as upselling and liquor inventory. As an employee with Starwood hotels, I have gathered skills such as multi-tasking, relationship building, personal presentation, and most importantly communication.
