AIS Block Clean up
On October 15, I participated in the AIS block cleanup, with the goal of picking trash up off of Philly streets, and cleaning up the neighborhood. For another volunteering opportunity in the same month, I volunteered for Temple Thrift with the Office of Sustainability. I have very much enjoyed the community engagement initiatives brought about by AIS. They teach members to be active stewards of the surrounding community, and gives us a break from the usual professional development to give back! By the end of the hour, my group picked up 5 bags of trash. These experiences remind me that supporting the community (especially in the context of business) is very important, and something that will be an important part of my professional career.
