Courses Taken:
- MIS 0855 – Data Science
- This course provided a broad overview of MIS as a major and discussed many of the major technologies that are used in the field of MIS.
- MIS 2101 – Information Systems in Organizations
- In this course, students studied in greater depth the concepts of: useful technology in the industry, the different branches of MIS job opportunity, and the different systems implemented into businesses that help the overall health of a company.
- MIS 2502 – Data Analytics
- Data Analytics provided the necessary information that is required to understand data on a more statistical level and taught students how to use specific technologies, RStudio, to analyze data and use visualizations to make the data have a greater impact on the audience.
- MIS 3501 – Data-Centric Application Development
- This course taught students the foundation of application development, specifically coding in HTML and the concepts that are required to create an application, connect it to a database, and exchange information between the two.
- MIS 3406 – Enterprise IT Architecture
- This course taught students how to research and assess IT hardware, software, systems and networking. We also learned how to identify management, usage, security, and consumer issues related to laptops, desktops, operating systems, servers, media, smartphones, cloud computing, and evolving technologies.
- Finally, we learned about new computing platforms and how they create business value.
