Experience
Student Ombudsperson
During the summer of 2014 and the subsequent school year, after completing the program requirements for Jumpstart, I began a new adventure as one of the four student ombudspersons for Temple University’s Fox School of Business. In this position I assist and facilitate communication between parties while providing information on university policy in an effort to resolve conflicts. When an informal resolution cannot be met, it is also my role to aid students throughout the formal grievance process by ensuring they have adequately completed the formal grievance form and have supplied all of the necessary supporting documents and evidence.
Jumpstart
During my first year at Temple University I volunteered for 305 hours for an Americorps organization known as Jumpstart. As a Jumpstart corps member I received 50+ hours of training and development in early childhood theory and practice. With this knowledge I served on a team of eight for approximately 20 hours a week as we taught literacy sessions for 20 children at a local YMCA, based on Jumpstart curriculum.
School Store
During my final three years as a student at Neshaminy High School I was an employee and eventually the president of the School Store. Within this position I interacted with two retailers and nineteen employees in order to stock product, maintain inventory, collect invoices, and handle cash payments from customers. I also planned and led training for incoming employees regarding School Store procedures and cash register use.
